Hello everyone! Here in the United States of America, we’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow. As an adult, it’s a lovely occasion to relax and cook and also be a little bit frantic at just the right times (so many sides! How will everything be done at just the right time?! It’s always a bit of a Turkey Miracle, if you will). As a kid I loved it as a day off of school, of course. I liked helping in the kitchen, but it was okay to be out-of-the-way and enjoy some reading, or maybe games with my brother and sister. My trusty sketchbook would never be too far away either, and I could spend some free time feeling creative.
If you’re feeling creative, but don’t have the energy to start a fresh page, here’s something to get you started:
The sale is almost over, but the fun just won’t stop! Snap them up for a discount now and get unlimited enjoyment from these instant downloads! I would love to know how everyone likes these unique coloring pages. 🙂 Would you prefer a special facebook or website coupon? Let me know, and I’ll consider it before the fall/Halloween season is over!
Generally, I’m a bit crotchety about celebrating the new season before its time has really come. Easter candy in January? Back-to-school in early or mid July? Blech. Autumn might be the only exception. I adore the season, which heralds the beautiful changing of colors for the local flora, plus that delicious cool scent in the air. I’ll admit that I’m usually planning Halloween costumes at least 2 months out anyway, so it seems kind of natural to let myself get carried away with the season in general.
That said, I have a treat!
Sorry for the delay! I have some projects in the works, which I’ll be posting about soon. In the meantime, here’s a special treat:
I know a lot of creative people and it’s always interesting to me that certain occupations and activities require difference physical situations in order to work as intended. I know writers that can make do with a laptop anywhere, and others that need a whole room with their references and the atmosphere they’ve furnished (literally and figuratively) over their career. I know visual artists that can create a finished, whimsical or formal, piece of art while they’re about town or riding the subway. Others need a full studio with all the proper lighting equipment and materials just so.
I’m also preparing some information and pictures on my calligraphy journey so far, and maybe a sneak peak into my next project too. This website is NOT intended for just pushing sale opportunities, so I’m considering ways to show the creative steps in my design and idea process. Let me know if you have suggestions! Stay tuned!
Hello Everyone! I must apologize for my long absence. I was working a “day job” and it was more taxing on my art time than I’m happy with. That being said, I’m so excited to be back! Please continue watching and supporting me. ❤
Hey all! Things have been busy: in the last month I’ve opened a store on Etsy, produced a few bookmarks for sale (especially on Etsy), applied for a few opportunities, etc. … I guess that doesn’t seem so busy, but amidst LIFE it’s important to have some form of benchmark. So, before further ado, please check out my new store!!
Oops — I fell off the internet again. Sometimes I’m just super awful about keeping up here. My bad. I’ve been distracted with trying to find a regular, pay-the-bills job. Monetizing art is … difficult. Commissions are just never plentiful enough and sometimes I spend too much time looking for opportunities and not enough time actually producing art. When the opportunities come around, I often feel like I don’t have any art recent enough to show what I can do. It’s a vicious cycle. So, I’m working on finding a job.
Hello everyone and happy holidays! I hope this season has been kind to you all. I feel rather spoiled myself despite a few setbacks. Art has been slowing down a little, though I did prepare a card. I’m mailing it out to personal friends and family, but wanted to share it here, as well. Be cozy, healthy, and well. 🙂
